Starting in November 2008, Prepared CERT Systems is offering a series of four 8-hour Advanced First Aid courses specifically for active CERT team members.
These courses provide the training needed to handle injuries and medical problems in a disaster or whenever advanced medical help is not available for hours or days.

Triage, Emergency Moves, and Treating Life Threatening InjuriesSecondary Assessment
Human Anatomy, Detailed Assessment, Bandaging WoundsSplinting
Splinting for Stabilization & Transport, Improvised SplintingSpinal Injuries
Recognizing Spinal Injuries, Cervical Collars, Backboards
This series of courses should be taken sequentially, and will be repeated three to four times each year so do not have to be taken all at once.
